We are quickly approaching the end of the year so I thought this would be a good time to remind everyone to make sure they are using their dental insurance to its fullest. Dental insurances, which YOU pay for, give an annual maximum of money that can be used towards covered services as well as 2 copay free check ups and cleanings per year. If they are not used during that year, it will not be rolled over into the following year. Those benefits will be lost for good and the money you have paid out to the insurance company might as well go in the garbage.
The same goes for FSA (Flexbile Spending Accounts) funds. They are also a “use it or lose it” type of benefit. If you do not use the money that you put into the account by the end of the year, you will lose the ability to use those funds the following year.
I know we are approaching the holiday season and lets face it, life gets busy. It can be very easy to forget that your benefits do expire and rather than wait until the last minute if would be a great idea to try and schedule in a visit before we are all booked up. Keep in mind that some dental procedures may take multiple appointments and you want to give yourself enough time so you can complete it before the year ends.
We are always happy to sit down with you and discuss how we can maximize your benefits for any given treatment plan so you can get the most out of your dental insurance.
